TECHNOLOGY PACKAGES
 

Consolidating on the gains made so far in the participating countries through adaptive research, efforts are being made to develop 'packages' of briquetting systems and briquette stoves that are suitable for local demonstration and dissemination. The packages are being disseminated on a semi-commercial or commercial basis to entrepreneurs who are interested in absorbing the technology .

The technology packages developed by the participating institutions are described in the following sections, country-wise. A list of the pacakages and details of each packages could be found in the book 'Technology Packages: Screw-Press Briquetting Machines and Briquette Fired Stoves' available in the publications section.

Thailand (AIT):
The following technology packages were developed at AIT :
1.
Improved Briquetting System consisting of a Bangladeshi design briquetting machine with pulleys for power transmission, with a 20 HP electric motor, Bangladeshi screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, a biomass pre-heater , combustion type metal stove die-heater (briquette-fired) , and a smoke recycling system.

Bangladesh:
Three technology packages were developed by KUET (formerly BIT):
Package1.
Briquetting system consisting of a Bangladeshi design briquetting machine with pulleys for power transmission, with a 30 HP diesel engine, Bangladeshi screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, combustion type metal stove die-heater (briquette-fired), and a smoke removal system. A single pot briquette stove for domestic use, and a two-pot briquette stove for commercial/community/large family use are also included in the package.
Package2.
riquetting system consisting of a Bangladeshi design briquetting machine with pulleys for power transmission, with 20 HP electric motor, Bangladeshi screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, and a combustion type metal stove die-heater (briquette-fired). Briquetting system consisting of a Vietnamese design briquetting machine with pulleys for power transmission, with Vietnamese screw & die for producing 71 mm diameter briquettes, and a combustion type metal stove die-heater (briquette-fired). A smoke removal system is also incorporated. A single pot briquette stove for domestic use, and a two-pot briquette stove for commercial/community use are also included in the package.
Vietnam:
Institute of Energy has developed the following three technology packages :
Package1.
Briquetting system consisting of a Bangladeshi design briquetting machine with pulleys for power transmission, with 20 HP electric motor, Bangladeshi screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, an anthracite coal stove for heating the die, and a chimney type smoke removal system. Two models of improved briquette stoves for household use, and one model for institutional/community use are also part of the package .

Briquetting system consisting of a Vietnamese design briquetting machine with gearbox for power transmission, with Vietnamese screw & die for producing 71 mm diameter briquettes, an anthracite coal stove for heating the die, and a chimney type smoke removal system. Two models of improved briquette stoves for household use, and one model for institutional/community use are also part of the package.

PackageA1.
Briquetting System Package A1 consists of a Bangladesh design biomass briquetting system with 15 HP electric motor, with pulleys for power transmission, machined Bangladeshi screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, electrical die heater, and a smoke removal system.
PackageA2.
Briquetting System Package A2 consists of a Bangladesh design biomass briquetting system with 15 HP electric motor, with pulleys for power transmission, a RONAST screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, a combustion type die heating stove, and a smoke removal system .
PackageB1.
Briquetting System Package B1 consists of a Bangladesh design biomass briquetting system with 15 HP electric motor, with pulleys for power transmission, a machined Bangladeshi screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, electrical die heater, and a smoke removal system.
PackageB2.
Briquetting System Package B2 consists of a Bangladesh design biomass briquetting machine with 15 HP electric motor, with pulleys for power transmission, a RONAST screw & die for producing 55 mm diameter briquettes, a screw & die, a combustion type die heating stove, and a smoke removal system.
